FAQs

  • Acupuncture is a gentle, effective way to help you feel like yourself again. When your nervous system is overwhelmed or your energy feels stuck or out of balance it can show up as stress, pain, fatigue or a sense of disconnection. Acupuncture works by guiding your body back into balance-helping energy flow smoothly so that you can feel clearer, more grounded and at home in your body.

  • During your first session, which is about 1.5 hours, we’ll start with an in-depth consultation where I’ll ask you about your current health, lifestyle, health history, and any specific concerns you’re looking to address. Then I’ll take your pulses and look at your tongue, which are key indicators of your overall health and energy. Afterward, we’ll do a treatment. You’ll relax comfortably while I insert very thin needles, and also may use moxibustion, which brings gentle warmth to stimulate energy at the points.  I’ll check in with you throughout to ensure you’re comfortable. You’ll have time to rest and let the needles do their work. Most people feel deeply relaxed after treatment.

  • Yes! If you’re nervous about needles we can take an extra gentle approach. Acupuncture should not hurt when done correctly, and I always want my patients to feel comfortable! I can use very thin, lightly placed needles, or we can even work with essential oils or tuning forks on the points and still get great results. I also offer Acu-Energy, a body treatment that blends massage and energy healing for a deeply restorative experience, with or without needles.

  • Acupuncture supports your nervous system and whole-body balance, helping with stress, anxiety, fatigue, sleep issues, digestive discomfort and physical pain. It’s especially helpful when you feel off, stuck, or not like yourself, guiding your body and spirit back into a state of flow.

  • For most issues, 4-6 sessions will make a noticeable difference. If your concerns are more chronic, we might recommend 10 or more sessions. We’ll start with weekly sessions, and as you improve, we can space them out more. Many of my patients continue with monthly tune-ups to maintain their well-being and keep feeling their best.

  • For acupuncture, it’s best to wear loose fitting clothing that allows easy access to your arms, legs and abdomen. I mainly use points from the elbows down and from the knees down, but will occasionally also use points on the back of the body as well.

  • I do not accept insurance directly. However, if you need a receipt to submit to your insurance, I am happy to provide one. Appointments can be paid for with cash, check, Venmo, or Zelle at the time of appointment.
